December 4, 2024 – 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Members Present: Steve Brown (chair /parent), Alysha Braithwaite (parent),  Kimberly Menssen (parent),  Lyndzi Elsmore (parent),Janette Pasaye (parent) Courtney Long (principal),  Amy Skelton (counselor)

    • Holiday support applications due this Friday  
      • Wish list is available and RPT is helping again this year with Food bags
      •  Looking to help families with basic needs this year
      • Appreciate all the community and school support for Thanksgiving and Holiday support for our families in need
  4. Portrait of a Graduate Overview/Update
    • The Circuit – The Gift
      • students will make a gift for a family member or friend
  5. Counselors Report  ~Amy Skelton
    • Continue with PCCRs
    • CCA lesson on Career Interest
    • Health class suicide prevention lessons with Lifelines curriculum
  6. CTESS Survey Report  ~Courtney Long
    • Reviewed scores for our school compared to other middle schools and district
    • Student Survey:
      • 3 highest scores: My teacher treats all students in this class with respect, my teacher walks around the room to check on students when we are doing work in class, my teacher tells us the learning intentions and success criteria of the day.
      • 3 lowes scores: At my school, students are recognized for following school rules, my teacher makes learning interesting, my school is a place where I feel safe

    • School council is going to be getting students ideas of what they would like for recognition on following school rules.
    • Assembly for fun interactive ways to recognize and reward students for following school rules.

    • Parent Survey:
      • 3 highest scores: This school communicates effectively with me,  staff members are respectful toward parents, this school keeps me informed with what I need to know about my child
      • 3 lowest scores:I feel my child is safe at this school, I am pleased with how this school supports my child’s emotional well-being, staff members respond to my concerns in an appropriate and timely mannerDesignated as Targeted School for Improvement (TSSI)
  7. PI7 (13) –Positive Peer support group focusing on academic goals

    SWD (120)– Sped teachers implemented class competitions to spend more time on Read 180 apps in school and at home


    • Initiative to focus on ONE student
    • Long will meet individually with every student taking the WIDA test
    • Pep Rally kickoff before WIDA and RISE testin

    • Designated as Targeted School for Improvement (TSSI)

    PI7 (13) –Positive Peer support group focusing on academic goals

  9. Teacher Student Success Plan ~Courtney Long
      • 75% of students will meet or exceed expected growth on the reading assessment during the current school year  
    • 60% of students will meet or exceed expected growth on the math assessment during the current school year  
    • On a monthly basis, at least 98% of students will be recognized through our school-wide positive behavior intervention system
    • By May of 2025, student connectivity and wellness will increase as measured by improved scores from the pre and post-wellness survey through the implementation of the after-school program, counseling supports, community facilitator supports, and lessons in homeroom on Portrait of a Graduate
